Presley & Danika

Hey y’all!

Coming at y’all with two patterns to discuss because I paired them both together for some cuuutttte outfits!

Bayyybeeee, these two patterns right here were meant for each other! These are the Presley skirt and Danika top. Both patterns are from Made for Mermaids. Presley was designed by Aaronica, and Michelle designed Danika. These gorgeous women are talented, and I love reaping the benefits of their work.

Let’s talk about the Presley skirt first:

Presley is a pleated skirt that has my heart! I love pleats much more than gathering! Pleats give a simple, neat, and alluring appearance to a make. I’m also a fan of mini skirts but deal with one MAJOR issue. I’m a part of the big booty club, and I have repeatedly dealt with the skirt being high in the back. I add rise to my leggings but have never done so with my skirts. I’m hella late to the party, but I learned how to make an adjustment during testing.

  • It comes in three lengths: Micro, mini, & knee length
  •  Three waistband options
  •  Shorties are included!
  •  Optional pocket for the shorties.
  •  Waist sizes go up to 57.”
  •  Hips go up to 64″

Now, let’s get into the Danika!

This pattern is so cute and versatile! I love that this top can go well with a maxi skirt, shorts, leggings, jeans, etc! It’s a great pattern, whether everyday wear, workout wear, or a date night fit. This is a quick sew, though I was dreadful about cutting the ties, which are wider than the other pieces! Don’t mind me, though; sometimes I get a little lazy while cutting. hehe

Deets:

  • Full-back or tie-back options
  •  Ties can be in the front or back, your choice!
  •  Three neckline options
  •  Three hem lengths(short crop, long crop, shirt)
  •  Five sleeve lengths
  •  Full bust goes up to 60″

These two combos were so perfect together and versatile on their own

Fabric for the first two Presley skirts are Peached Performance from Amanda’s Bundles. I heard many people rave about this base and I decided to see what all the hype was about. I am HOOKED! I bought more yards to make some leggings for myself. The range that this base has and the softness against my skin led to this fabric captivating my heart. For the first two Danikas I used fabric from one of my trusted sources, Fabric Wholesale Direct. Their affordable prices and quick processing time makes it an easy choice to keep coming back. The last set’s a Scarlett mash with Presley and the fabric is from Sew Dynamic Fabrics! SD fabrics are made from recyclable fabrics and have a nice range of bases available and their fabrics NEVER disappoint on the high quality!

Happy sewing!
